Blogs vs. Wikis

Compare and contrast blogs and wikis. Comment on the importance of convergence in today's networked world. How can blogs be used for collaboration? Can you think of a new use for a wiki that has not been done yet?

I think that blogs are much more user friendly than wikis. It is so easy to use this blogger and easy to look at other peoples. It is more personalized and you can make it your own. A wiki is kind of bland and a more collaborative effort, where people can post topics and it becomes kind of a conversation. I am not really sure in which sense convergence is being used here, but I would say that having a page with that is a collaborative effort is very important in this day and age. All work is collaborative and the more people there are to make something more informative, the better. So therefore, convergence is very important.

Blogs can be used for collaboration by having a joined blog with someone and making it a popular type of page that people want to follow. you joined ideas make the page what it is and people enjoy reading it. A new use for a wiki would be allowing it to look more like a website with innovative design. Maybe it could be more mdeia based rather than texted based.
